JULY MOM OF THE MONTH - Krystal Sloan-Ramirez

Instructor, Peggy Paules: "Krystal brings an energy and enthusiasm to class that is contagious! She is a no-excuses mama that puts her all into her workouts (morning and night, might I add!), her “mom-ing,” and her friendships. I look forward to seeing her in class, and our Village wouldn’t be complete without her!"

This month we recognize KRYSTAL SLOAN-RAMIREZ for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda FIT4MOM Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, KRYSTAL," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!"

1. Who are the members of your family?

The members of my family are my husband, Lauro, my son Riley (8), my son Caleb (6), and my daughter Makenzie (2).

2. What is or was your career?

I am an elementary school teacher. I teach second grade and I absolutely love it.

3. How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM of North Orange County and what has it done for you?

I have been a member of Fit4Mom for 8 years. Stroller Strides has been an absolutely wonderful part of my life. It has brought an appreciation for exercise that I had never had before. I also love that my children see me working out and they realize that it is not a chore but fun.

4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

I have been surprised by how completely and utterly I am exhausted on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter how much sleep I get I am tired all of the time. Exercise has helped me feel better and give me some renewed energy.

5. Favorite app(s) or website(s)?

The apps I am currently using the most are Netflix (Momma needs to chill.) and My Fitness Pal. I love how I can log all of my food for the day and see where I am. It keeps me accountable for the food I eat.

6. List three current obsessions.

Currently, because it’s summer, I am obsessed with having fun with my kids and getting in all of the Stroller Strides classes I can.

7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?

My children love anytime that I can just sit and play with them. They love playing board games and card games.

8. Any tips for other moms out there?

I don’t really have any tips except remind you to give yourself credit for all of the things that you do during the day. Sometimes, we focus on all of the things we didn’t get done laundry, dishes, cleaning, or any of the other millions of things that are going through your head at the end of the day. Take a moment and give yourself credit for what you did do and if your kids are healthy and happy that is all that matters.
