January Mom of the Month - CHAR HANNAN
Instructor, Karisa Maloney: "So excited that this mama is now Mom of the Month, let’s congratulate Charlynn Hannan!! First of all, MANY of you know her because she is one of the few mamas that exercises anytime, anyplace!! Her dedication to fitness and well-being is apparent in her attendance and her drive in class! She is always there to greet everyone with a smile, and although she may seem like a woman of few words, she always has something uplifting, supportive, and encouraging to say to the moms in Our Village! Didn’t get a chance to chat at the workout? No problem! Char is always up for a coffee date with her sweet daughter Morgan and nephew Reid! Charlynn, thanks for being a special part of Our Village and for loving those babies so well! We adore you!"
This month we recognize CHAR HANNAN for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda FIT4MOM Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, CHAR," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!"
1. Who are the members of your family?
The members of my family are myself, my husband, Chris, and my daughter, Morgan (14mos).
2. What is or was your career?
I was a bartender for over 10 years before quitting to become a nanny for my two-month-old nephew, Reid. Five days into my new gig as a nanny, I found out that I was pregnant with Morgan. I continue to nanny for Reid and care for Morgan.
3. How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM of North Orange County and what has it done for you?
I have been an active member of FIT4MOM for the past 8 months. I enjoy meeting and socializing with so many awesome moms and their amazing kids. FIT4MOM provides essential socializing that would not be possible if I just chilled at home all day. Belonging to this community is a dream that provides an uplifting, caring and non-judgmental environment. There are so many positive experiences I can elaborate on, but in short I can say without a doubt that I look forward to each and every event, even the motivational fun workouts.
4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
Where do I event start? One thing I can think of is the misconception of time. I thought it would be easier to accomplish tasks around the house if I was home all day. Needless to say, having two barnacles attached to me at all times makes even the simplest of chores a bit challenging.
5. Favorite app(s) or website(s)?
Amazon has become very convenient. It takes a lot of effort to load up two babies and shop for anything. When it comes to shopping for myself, I again find solace in online shopping. My current favs are Lulus.com and Pinkblush.com.
6. List three current obsessions.
Obviously my family, I'm a lucky girl!
Disneyland. We recently became annual pass holders and are looking forward to making fun memories together with family and friends.
Stroller Strides. I get a good workout each day, get the kids out of the house, meet cool people while participating in fun activities.
7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?
Reid and Morgan absolutely love singing songs. They start doing the hand motion for me to sing along with them. I’ve combined some of my own childhood favorites with new songs learned from Stroller Stride classes.
8. Any tips for other moms out there?
All kids are different, so not all tips will apply to your child. Listen to experienced mothers but don’t worry if their advice doesn’t work. Each child is unique and will communicate what they like or dislike. That being said, I am still pretty new to motherhood, so I am usually the one asking others for tips.
