Instructor, Michelle Kadera: "I’m excited for this month’s “mom of the month”, Jill! This fabulous mama is committed to her workouts. It’s not unusual to see Jill maximizing her workouts by adding in her own movements during any down time.

Jill is one of those mamas that wears her heart on her sleeve, is approachable, humble and honest, and a support system to all. Dedicated to her kiddos, she’s a loving mom who is intentional with each moment of parenting. Thank you, Jill, for being YOU! We are lucky to have you in our village!"

This month we recognize JILL PARSELL for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda FIT4MOM Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, JILL," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!

1. Who are the members of your family?

My wonderful husband of five years, Jamison, and our two amazing boys, Finn (2.5 years) and Fox (8 mos).

2. What is or was your career?

I am an Assistant Professor at Orange Coast College in the Biology department. (Today was my first day back after maternity leave…we all survived!!)

3. How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM of North Orange County and what has it done for you?

I’ve been regularly going to Strides for about 2 years. Oh, I can’t even begin to gush about what it has done for me. I love the outdoors, so getting outside first thing in the morning is awesome. I also love to exercise (a bit of a junkie pre-kids), and it’s the most consistent opportunity I have right now. We all get what we need; fresh air and fun! It’s also nice to chat with other moms about various things. I realize that we have an instant bond in motherhood and its nice to know other people “get you” and what you’re experiencing as a mom.

4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

How much I love my boys. So much it hurts. I can’t imagine life without them. I worry more than I ever did (but I try not to haha).

5. Favorite app(s) or website(s)?

Pinterest is my regular trolling site. Trying to get into Instagram (FB is not really my thing). And I guess Netflix counts (for those nights when I should be sleeping instead).

6. List three current obsessions.

  • Hot yoga (when I can on the weekends); its AMAZING
  • Making my breakfast in advance (I’m addicted to these oatmeal, apple, carrot muffins I make).
  • Stroller strides!!

7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?

Well I couldn’t get Finn to really answer me when I asked. So, what I observe him to like is reading books, singing songs, and “playing trucks on the floor”.

8. Any tips for other moms out there?

You’re doing great! Even though you haven’t showered, have stains on your clothes and might be in the thick of it, you’re doing it. These are the moments we’ll treasure forever.
