Instructor, Michelle Kadera: "I am so thankful to get the chance to work out along side this wonderful mama. You can just tell Leah's head is always in the right spot! Working hard, eating healthy and exercising are priorities in her life and there's no doubt she inspires our Stroller Strides mamas. Thank you for always coming to workout ready to give it your all. Your smile is contagious and your cool, calm and collect personality is so welcoming! Congrats Leah! You deserve this title!"
This month we recognize LEAH COX for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda Fit4Mom Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, LEAH," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!
1. Who are the members of your family?
Our family consists of my husband, Del Jr., our son Del III, our two pups Champ and Hotrod, and we have a baby on the way!
2. What is or was your career?
Almost four years ago, I started a company called Twisted Hangers where we specialize in making Personalized Wedding Hangers and many other personalized gifts. I now have two employees that help me with it.
I also have worked for a private gym in Huntington Beach for over 5 years. For the past 2 ½ years, I have worked from home and just took a new position as their Financial Controller.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, and I don’t even use it anymore!
3. How long have you been a member of Stroller Strides of North Orange County, and what has it done for you?
I have been a Stroller Strides Mom since February 2015. Wow, it has been a life-changer for me. I have found a way to spend time with my son, get my fitness on, and meet other moms in the same stage of life as me all at the SAME time! Finding the time to get some exercise in was hard, but now I make it a priority because it’s so much more than just exercise.
4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
I think I grew another arm when I became a mom. I certainly am surprised at how much I can juggle at one time without freaking out (too much). With a business, another job, a new house, family, life, and the daily surprises of having a toddler, I am managing it somehow! Why not throw another baby in the mix!
5. Favorite website(s)?
My own, of course! www.TwistedHangers.com, but Pinterest is a close second.
6. List three current obsessions.
Being preggo has definitely brought on the food obsessions. Ice water (the only thing that sometimes helps with my nausea), tater tots (they’ve been finding their way into many dinners lately thanks to Pinterest), and fresh fruit (I just can’t get enough).
7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?
Del loves when I play with his cars and trains with him. He also loves that I share my "ice cream" (greek yogurt) with him. He will surely take a bath if there's "ice cream" after.
8. Any tips for other moms out there?
What works for one person, may not work for another. Each child and family is so different. Hear everyone’s advice, but ultimately, take bits and pieces of it and make it fit to your family.
