Instructor, Jessica Rosholm: "Catherine has been a part of our village since April of 2015, and I am so happy I have gotten to know her more during this time. She is so fun and passionate about being a mother to her two beautiful children. Since day one she has welcomed everyone in class with her positive energy and a smile that could literally light up a room. Catherine worked hard to stay fit and healthy during her second pregnancy and recently welcomed her daughter Elizabeth to the family. Catherine hasn't let having a toddler and a newborn stop her from getting her workouts in, and she is gearing up to join our team of instructors in January of 2016! She is a great example and member of our FIT4MOM family! Let's hear more about Catherine!"
This month we recognize CATHERINE CROWELL for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda FIT4MOM Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, CATHERINE," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!
1. Who are the members of your family?
My husband, Casey, our son, Callan (2 yrs.,) our daughter, Elizabeth Daisy (2 mo.,) and our pup, Captain Crowell.
2. What is or was your career?
I have a background in PR & Marketing, and I’ve worked for a variety of organizations from NBC Universal to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses. Most recently, I was the Director of Alumni Relations at the University of Southern California but after having Callan, I decided to stay home.
3. How long have you been a member of Stroller Strides of North Orange County and what has it done for you?
I’ve been Stroller Striding for almost a year! I consecutively joined the Fit4Baby classes while I was expecting Elizabeth and it truly made a positive impact on my pregnancy. Stroller Strides is, without a doubt, the answer to my prayers! After having Cal, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease but before my diagnosis, I got really sick. Stroller Strides saved my life and contributes greatly to managing my symptoms. Plus, I am so grateful for the Village and the opportunity to connect with amazing moms.
4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
No amount of education, work or life experience could have prepared me for this amazing adventure.
5. Favorite website(s)?
6. List three current obsessions.
A – I love to cook!
B – USC Trojans – I did my undergrad there, and I am a die-hard fan. You can usually catch me or one of my family members wearing something USC. Fight On!
C – Food blogs & cookbooks – I find it fascinating how food can serve as medicine! My faves are 100 Days of Real Food and Against All Grain.
7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?
Cal asks me to sing songs while he strums his toy guitar, and we have a lot of fun rocking out together! He also loves when I let him help me cook and taste test. Elizabeth’s favorite thing is when I carry her in the Solly wrap.
8. Any tips for other moms out there?
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford
This quote just helps me get through life. Simply put, moms, you are your first cheerleader. Keep your head up and believe in yourself. You can do anything and you are never alone.
