Instructor, Shelley Hernandez: "From the moment I met Veronica, she has not stopped smiling. This incredible mom is bubbly, outgoing, strong physically and mentally, and really such a pleasure to be around! Veronica, you are an amazing mom who is driven and ambitious! We are so lucky to have you as a part of our village!"
This month we recognize VERONICA FAXON for her accomplishment and dedication to fitness, motherhood and life! Our Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda FIT4MOM Team would like to say, "THANK YOU, VERONICA," for being part of our Stroller Strides family!
1. Who are the members of your family?
My husband Sean, my son Joey (3) and my daughter Paige (19 months)
2. What is or was your career?
I currently work for the Brea Olinda Unified School District with their Kinder Connection program. I'm currently in the process of finishing up my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and I am hoping to have a full time teaching position in fall.
3. How long have you been a member of Stroller Strides of North Orange County and what has it done for you?
I have been a member of stroller strides for about a year. I first started with Mamma Wants Her Body Back, and that has completely changed my life. I never thought I would be as physically fit as I am now. Working out and eating healthy has become part of my life and my families lives. Being apart of the stroller strides community has been such a blessing. My kids love going to stroller strides and seeing their friends. It has really helped me being apart of this community and making new friends.
4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
Everything has surprised me about motherhood! What really shocked me is how different my daughter is from my son. I knew that they would be different because one is a boy and one is a girl, but I just did not realize how completely opposite they are. Joey is a active boy, but Paige is my daredevil. I thought she would be my calm little girl, but she is the opposite.
5. Favorite website(s)?
6. List three current obsessions.
Shopping, working out, and being with my family.
7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?
Right now the kids are really into reading. They both could be read to all day long. They also love it when we put music on in the house so they could dance.
8. Any tips for other moms out there?
Cherish every day with your babies because time really goes by so fast. Also remember that it is ok to take time for yourself.
